BOUQUINISTE J.HAMMER

The world`s tiniest & most old-fashioned store for old books. Founded 1989

Address: Roosikrantsi str.6 (the same house as Institute of the Estonian Language, opposite Swiss House) Tel. +372 6442 633, GSM +372 56495622

For those who are interested in books but who live outside Estonia, this site is of more introductory than practical value. You will be given a short overview of what we offer and we hope to find out about books that interest you.

So please send in your requests and who knows, perhaps we will even be able to meet some of them! In reality, you will still receive your book in our store and pay cash for it (to hell with all the virtuality), because sending books by mail and wiring money is generally way too expensive for the buyer.

So the easiest and cheapest way is for you to find an acquaintance who is coming this way who will buy your books for you; or better yet, you can come to Tallinn yourself, for there are also other interesting things to do here besides diving into old books. Those who have money to spare can of course choose to pay with a money transfer. When converting your respective currencies into Estonian kroons, please base it on the exchange rate of 1 EUR = 15,6 EEK and then do the rest of counting using your fingers if you need to.

Your questions and wishes are welcome at all times, and I shall try to answer them in my broken English as soon as I can. The "pidgin Englis" I use to describe the books may bother you, but I hope you can at least get the general picture. If not, please feel free to ask me again.

When e-mailing me, please use English, Finnish, or Estonian, as that is the extent of my language skills. Thank you very much. Wishing you many wonderful book surprises,

Juhan Hammer
